Is it Limbo or Purgatory

In the La Comedia Divina, Dante describes Limbo and Puratory. I can't decide which I just found myself in.

To get to the point, I heard back from JET. Here is what they had to say:

Dear Mr. McManus,
This letter is to inform you that you have been selected as an
ALTERNATE ALT short-list candidate for this year's JET Program.

Huh? Should I be happy, or should I prepare for things to get messy?

Dale came to dinner last night and he said that you shouldn't work for JET because they are stupid if they can't even recognize that you would be the best candidate ever.

I really appreciate the JET bashing that everyone is doing. Thank you for thinking that I would be the ideal candidate. But the truth is that I still really, really want to do it.

I finally found an optomistic way of thinking about this by the way. Here it goes. Everyone is going to be disapointed by the JET program at some point. So I am lucky that I have been disapointed while I am still in the US with my family and friends rather than after going to Japan when I am, for the most part, alone.
